Our two monarch caterpillars are now in a Chrysalis. Greedy crawled up toward the ceiling and is behind the heat pump but Tigger stayed on the swan plant. We made holiday pictures and we finished them. Mr Harris read us two stories and we played t-ball on Tuesday afternoon. Jack came to join the R3LT on the 12/2/09. Miss Scott is not sick anymore and back with us. We started subjects like reading, maths groups and author time this week. It was Adie's birthday this week and we hope she had a great birthday. We wish Ms Taylor a great birthday on Saturday. This week we finished our name tags and put them onto our desks, browsing boxes and trays.

Welcome Back to School
This week is the first week back to school for 2009. We have been at school for four days this week. Our major focus has been getting to know each other and working toward discovering what kind of class environment we want and how we can achieve it for our Learning Team this year.
We have created some fantastic pastel holiday pictures this week to show an exciting moment of our holiday. Next we told our story, firstly we wrote a draft plan that Miss S typed up. Then we started a podcast of our stories to share them with others.
In our class we found that Miss S had brought along 6 tadpoles and 2 monarch caterpillars. We are looking forward to them changing. We called our caterpillars Greedy and Tigger. Today Greedy went walk about and we think we might find a chrysalis some where in our room on Monday morning.
This year we are lucky to have Miss Scott working with The Room 3 Learning Team. Miss Scott is a student teacher, she will work with our class at different times throughout the year as part of her final year in the Bachelor of Teaching (primary) degree through the University of Otago. Miss Scott's first practicum is for 3 and a half weeks.
This week we have been finding out why the 6th of Februry is such an important day in New Zealand and answering our wonderings about Waitangi Day. Mrs Jewiss set us a goal to tell the people around us about why they are on hoilday this Friday 6th of February.
We have enjoyed our first week back to school!

Week 6 with the R3LT
Gala Saturday was on the 15 November 2008 and we rode Pony around the field. There was a dunking machine at the Gala Day and we got all wet. There was toys, books and puzzles for sale. There was Flick the Fire Engine giving rides and a bouncy castle. You could also get your face painted. Some people also ate yummy toffee apples.
Hope is away in Samoa on Holiday for two weeks.
In PE we were learning to hit tennis balls with tennis rackets.
Janinta, our new fish, is happily swimming around our tank.
This week for topic we asked a question about space that we wanted to find out, then researched and presented our findings. It was hard learning how to do research but we did a good job.

It was sad this week this week because Bumble bee died so Miss Power bought her fish Janita today.
On wednesday we played soccer and Jacob was in the middle.
Also Rory came back to us from a school in Nelson which we were very happy about.
We wrote legends and it was hard work. The story was called Hinepau.
The end by Hope and Jack.
