This week is the first week back to school for 2009. We have been at school for four days this week. Our major focus has been getting to know each other and working toward discovering what kind of class environment we want and how we can achieve it for our Learning Team this year.
We have created some fantastic pastel holiday pictures this week to show an exciting moment of our holiday. Next we told our story, firstly we wrote a draft plan that Miss S typed up. Then we started a podcast of our stories to share them with others.
In our class we found that Miss S had brought along 6 tadpoles and 2 monarch caterpillars. We are looking forward to them changing. We called our caterpillars Greedy and Tigger. Today Greedy went walk about and we think we might find a chrysalis some where in our room on Monday morning.
This year we are lucky to have Miss Scott working with The Room 3 Learning Team. Miss Scott is a student teacher, she will work with our class at different times throughout the year as part of her final year in the Bachelor of Teaching (primary) degree through the University of Otago. Miss Scott's first practicum is for 3 and a half weeks.
This week we have been finding out why the 6th of Februry is such an important day in New Zealand and answering our wonderings about Waitangi Day. Mrs Jewiss set us a goal to tell the people around us about why they are on hoilday this Friday 6th of February.
We have enjoyed our first week back to school!
